Trinity UMC has chosen to lead the effort to provide a safe place for everyone to sleep, eat, shower and wash clothes. This is a community vision with a committee of community members who have the responsibility of implementing and progressing the vision. The vision has been broken up into 2 phases: 1. Warming Shelter for dangerously cold nights and Cooling Center for dangerously hot days and 2. a transitional shelter for people who are in need of a night's stay. We have implemented the Warming Shelter and the Cooling Center. The Love Shelters the Heart of Oklahoma committee is looking for a permanent location for the Warming/Cooling center and transitional shelter. When we have a location for the transitional shelter, we will begin to implement the transitional shelter.
